I used graphite on cardstock with a shading stump. I was using "Dblack"s" technique. I really like his style of shading and he was nice enough to have a tutorial on his webpage as well as give me some tips through email.

This came out pretty nice with that shading technique. You should do one of elvira to sorta complement it :D.
